Is Bitcoin's fever breaking? Read the crowd and the price on one chart

PulseFlow MVRV-Z Adaptive BTC colors the crowd's euphoria and panic; PulseFlow Drift VWAP Swing marks when price has stretched and starts to come back.

When everyone is talking about Bitcoin

Bitcoin has been climbing for months. New highs fill your feed, and a friend who never talks about markets asks whether it is too late to buy.

That moment hides two different questions. How hot is the crowd? And how far has price run from its average? PulseFlow MVRV-Z Adaptive BTC looks at the first. PulseFlow Drift VWAP Swing looks at the second. On the same daily chart, the mood sits in a pane below and the distance from the average on price itself: follow either one, or just the days when they line up.

MVRV-Z Adaptive: the temperature of the room

In its own pane under the 1-day Bitcoin chart, it compares what all the coins are worth today with roughly what their holders paid for them. When today's value races ahead, holders feel like geniuses; when it sinks back, fear takes the wheel. A cyan line shows how stretched that gap is. In the upper extreme zone the background turns maroon: high valuation, hot mood. In the lower one it turns green: low valuation, fear in charge.

Then it marks the moment that feeling starts to run out while price is still pushing. Price makes a new high, yet the line peaks lower than last time: a red D, euphoria may be fading. Price makes a lower low, yet the line holds a higher one: a green D, panic may be fading. W triangles do the same with weekly highs and lows.

Drift VWAP Swing: how far the rubber band has stretched

Stretch a rubber band far and it wants to go back. Price far from its average behaves in a similar way: at some point the market pauses or turns. Drift VWAP Swing draws that average, the VWAP: the price the market has paid, where busy candles count more than quiet ones. By default it restarts each quarter on daily charts and each year on weekly ones, and three bands on each side show how stretched price is.

When price has stretched far and starts to come back, Drift marks a BUY or a SELL at the candle close. A set number of candles later, a marker shows whether price moved in the mark's favor (green) or not (red), and a compact panel adds up the results: a record of your own symbol, not a backtest.

Euphoria and a stretched price

Imagine Bitcoin after a long rise. In the lower pane, the MVRV-Z line has climbed into the maroon zone. Price pushes to one more high, but the line does not keep up and a red D appears. On the price chart, Bitcoin trades far above the quarter's VWAP; as it starts to come back, Drift VWAP Swing marks a SELL.

The mood and the stretch now agree. Out of months of candles, the two indicators have picked out a handful of days worth a closer look. The mirror case is a green zone, a green D and a BUY after a long fall.

With the trend, or against it?

Look again at that SELL: it goes against months of rising prices. Drift VWAP Swing suggests the opposite habit: reading its marks with the trend. A red D is about the mood, not the trend: the euphoria may be fading while price is still pushing higher.

A with-trend reading looks different: in a market you judge to be rising, price pulls back and stretches far below its average; as it starts to come back, Drift marks a BUY. The MVRV-Z pane then adds one question: is the room already hot, or still calm? Set Drift to show buys only, and the chart keeps just those.

Setting up the chart

Open Bitcoin on the 1-day chart, the only timeframe MVRV-Z Adaptive works on, and add both indicators: MVRV-Z takes its own pane and Drift draws on price.

The marks may land on different candles: MVRV-Z's triangles appear once a high or low is confirmed, and not every top or bottom gets one; Drift's marks are confirmed at the candle close.

Drift can also alert you when a BUY or a SELL appears at a daily close, so the chart can stay closed between alerts. For a slower view, open a weekly chart with Drift alone: MVRV-Z Adaptive does not run there.

Where to start

Prices for PulseFlow indicators are not active for now: details are in the pricing section.

Start with MVRV-Z Adaptive: put it on a daily Bitcoin chart and scroll back through past cycles to see where it turned maroon and where it turned green. If you also want to see how far price has stretched, add Drift VWAP Swing.
