Better before than after
Before you enter, four questions are worth asking. Is the trend against you? Has the week already traveled far from its open? Is a volume level sitting right in the way? Has price already broken the last swing?
Four PulseFlow indicators answer one each, so you can answer them on the chart itself. Read them in the same order every time, from the widest view down to your candles: trend, week, volume, swings.
1. Is there a strong trend? Strong Trend Detector
PulseFlow Strong Trend Detector is based on the RSI (Relative Strength Index) and gathers readings from different timeframes in a pane below price, so it adds no lines over the candles. It shows bullish, bearish and neutral states, with daily, weekly and monthly information.
A reading from a period still open can change until it closes.
2. Where is price in the week? Weekly Opening Targets ±5%
Weekly Opening Targets ±5% draws the week's open in aqua as a fixed reference, with green lines above and red below, in 1% steps by default. If the week opens at 100, the +1% line sits at 101.
A quick look at the lines tells you how far the week has traveled: still near the open, or already out by the outer lines? Keep previous weeks on the chart and you also see how price behaved at the same distance in earlier weeks.
3. Where is the volume? VWAP Levels + POC
PulseFlow VWAP Levels + POC draws VWAP, the average price weighted by volume, for the day and week in progress, for the last closed day, week, month, quarter and year, and for the regular New York session. A Rolling POC (Point of Control) marks the price band where recent candles traded the most volume.
For a quick read, start with the closed periods: their lines no longer move. The POC is an approximation built from the chart's candles and their reported volume.
4. What shape are the swings? Pivot Up & Down
PulseFlow Pivot Up & Down puts a red triangle above each swing high, a candle whose high tops those on both sides, and a green one below each swing low. Nothing else. You read the shape: higher highs and higher lows, lower ones, or neither.
A swing is confirmed only once the candles you choose have closed to its right, so each triangle arrives with that delay. Once drawn, it does not move: a fixed reference for your own levels or stops.
Reading the four in order
Imagine it is Thursday, you are on a 4-hour chart and thinking about buying. The pane shows bullish readings on the daily and weekly. Price sits between the week's +1% and +2% lines, Wednesday's completed VWAP lies a little below, and the last two green triangles step higher. Four answers, one picture: you know where you stand, and the last swing low shows where the rising structure would break.
Now picture another day: the pane is neutral, price hovers around the weekly open and the triangles alternate with no direction. There is little to read yet, and that is worth knowing too.
Each answer has its own place on the chart: the pane below price, the lines around it, the triangles at each swing. When one question matters more that day, you know where to look.
Fit it on your chart and your plan
To keep four indicators from crowding the chart, show only the VWAPs you use, widen the step between weekly lines and raise “Bars on each side” in Pivot Up & Down to keep only the bigger swings. Save it as a TradingView chart layout and it is ready next time. Strong Trend Detector alerts you to strong trends, Pivot Up & Down to each confirmed swing.
TradingView limits indicators per chart by plan; as of October 2026, its pricing page lists two on Basic. If that is your plan, work in pairs without changing the order: trend with the week, then volume with swings. Weekly Opening Targets needs a standard candle or bar chart on an intraday, daily or weekly timeframe, and VWAP and the POC depend on the volume your symbol reports.
Beyond the four
If you later want a map like the weekly one for each day, Daily Targets ±4% draws one from the day's open, and PulseFlow Imbalance Sessions & ADR keeps in view the open imbalance zones a fast move leaves behind.
Prices for PulseFlow indicators are not active for now: details are in the pricing section. Before your next trade, ask the four questions in order.
