A long wick, far below the average
You follow a market you judge to be rising. After six weeks of pullback, price sits far below the year's average, and a weekly candle closes with a long lower wick. It looks like the bottom. It may be. It may also be a pause before another leg down: a stretched price can stay stretched for a long time.
A candle gives you four prices. It does not tell you which side pushed inside that wick. Two PulseFlow indicators add what the candle leaves out, on one daily or weekly chart: PulseFlow Drift VWAP Swing shows how far price has stretched and whether it is coming back; PulseFlow Order Flow Confirmation opens the candle and shows what happened inside.
Drift VWAP Swing: how far, and is it coming back?
Drift VWAP Swing draws the VWAP, the average price the market has paid. By default it restarts each quarter on daily charts and each year on weekly ones. Three bands on each side show how stretched price is. When price has stretched far and starts to come back, it marks a BUY or a SELL at the candle close.
A set number of candles later, each mark gets a circle (BUY) or a square (SELL): green if price moved in its favor, red if not. They show how the mark played out. The indicator's own guidance is to read its marks with the trend. It leaves the trend to you and lets you show buys, sells or both: in a market you see as rising, you can keep only the BUY marks on screen.
Order Flow Confirmation: what happened inside the candle
The footprint is the record of what happened inside each candle: buying volume and selling volume, price by price, as TradingView classifies it. Absorption is when one side pushes hard and price still will not follow.
When a candle closes, Order Flow Confirmation can draw a small triangle: turquoise below the candle when selling was absorbed, orange above it when buying was absorbed. A large arrow appears only if the next candle confirms it, with order flow and price moving the other way. No answer, no arrow. The triangle is the first reading; the arrow means the market has answered it.
Back to that chart: a hypothetical example
The week of the long wick closes with a turquoise triangle below it: sellers pushed, and price would not follow. The following week, price starts to rise. At that close, Drift VWAP Swing marks a BUY and Order Flow Confirmation draws its large arrow, because the candle answered with order flow and price moving up.
That long wick now holds three readings: a stretched price coming back, a selling push absorbed, and a next candle that went the other way, all with the trend you judged to be rising. On a chart full of candles, that is the spot you wanted to find.
The mirror case, in a falling market: a rally far above the average, an orange triangle above the candle and a SELL. As the example shows, the marks need not land on the same candle: read them by area.
When the pieces do not line up
A BUY with no triangle nearby is a stretch with no absorption mark to back it. A triangle while price sits close to its average has no stretch behind it. And a triangle still without an arrow after the next candle closes was not confirmed.
Setting up the chart
Put both on one daily or weekly chart. Drift VWAP Swing draws only on those two timeframes, and Order Flow Confirmation works best on daily and higher with its default settings. If the chart gets crowded, Order Flow Confirmation lets you hide any of its marks. Historical marks may differ from live ones, since older candles carry less footprint detail.
Let the alerts do the watching. Drift VWAP Swing has a buy alert and a sell alert, both at the candle close, and Order Flow Confirmation has four: bullish and bearish absorption and confirmation. The order of work is simple: when a Drift mark arrives, open the chart and look for triangles and arrows around it. That way you look inside the candles only where price has already stretched.
What you need
Prices for PulseFlow indicators are not active for now: details are in the pricing section. Order Flow Confirmation needs a TradingView Premium or Ultimate plan, because it reads footprint data. Drift VWAP Swing works on any market with volume data.
The marks help you decide without deciding for you.
Open each indicator page and look at its chart. If looking inside the candle when price is stretched fits the way you read daily and weekly charts, these two indicators are built for it.
