Price breaks yesterday's high. Who is really pushing, and what if it fails?

PulseFlow Breakout Delta shows who controlled each test of the level; PulseFlow MaxCalper Failed Breakout marks the breakout that fails and draws a plan.

Three candles above the line

Two-minute chart. Price clears yesterday's high with a long green candle, and breakout buyers jump in behind it. Three candles later, price is back under the line, and whoever bought up there may be on the wrong side.

The candles show where price went. They do not show who was really in control when price tested the level, or whether this failure deserves a plan or is just noise. PulseFlow Breakout Delta puts the first on the chart; PulseFlow MaxCalper Failed Breakout, the second.

Breakout Delta: who was in control at the level

Breakout Delta watches the previous day's high and low. Every candle that tests one of them is colored on a scale from strong buying to strong selling, so you see who dominated that contact and how intense it was. The reading comes from footprint data: the buying and selling volume recorded inside each candle.

The color is not the candle's direction: a green candle can show that sellers were in control. Breakout Delta has no alerts of its own, and colors on older candles may shift slightly when the chart reloads, so it is best read live.

MaxCalper: the failed breakout, with a plan drawn

MaxCalper is built for scalpers on standard 1 to 4 minute candles. It draws the high and low of today's session and the previous one, plus the session VWAP, and waits for one of those highs or lows to break and fail, with price back inside the range. Not every breach counts: it runs its own checks first. When a setup passes, a small triangle appears at the candle close: green below for a long, red above for a short.

For the latest one, it draws a reference plan: the recovered level, an entry reference, a stop beyond the failed move and a target toward the nearest obstacle, with reward / risk, before spread and commissions. No working out numbers mid-move: they are already on screen. Two alerts, confirmed long and confirmed short, spare you from watching every candle.

Where they meet: yesterday's high and low

Breakout Delta works at the previous day's levels. MaxCalper works at the highs and lows of today's session and the previous one. They meet at yesterday's high and low: there, one colors the test and the other can mark the failure. Away from Breakout Delta's lines, MaxCalper works alone.

To the naked eye, that line shows only a candle crossing a level. The two indicators add who dominated the test, read from the footprint, and whether MaxCalper, which reads price and volume, confirmed the failure and drew a plan.

A hypothetical example at yesterday's high

Imagine price breaks above yesterday's high with a wide green candle: on the candles alone, buyers seem to be winning. But Breakout Delta colors the candles that tested the level as strong selling: at the line, sellers dominated. Shortly after, price closes back under the level and MaxCalper confirms the failed breakout: a red triangle above the candle and a plan on screen, with the stop above the failed move. Two different readings point the same way.

Now the opposite: the test comes out strong buying, yet price slips back and MaxCalper confirms. The footprint and the failure disagree, and you know it before you decide, not after. If MaxCalper discards the move, there is no triangle and no plan: one reading, not two. At yesterday's low, read it in reverse.

Setting up the chart

Load both on the same chart: a liquid instrument with reliable volume data, on standard 1 to 4 minute candles. MaxCalper sets the timeframe; Breakout Delta works on standard intraday charts. Set Breakout Delta to show only the latest day, as MaxCalper already does, and the screen stays clean.

Then check that MaxCalper's previous-session lines sit at the same price as Breakout Delta's. If they don't, the two are using different session hours or time zones: align them in each indicator's session settings.

What you need

Prices for PulseFlow indicators are not active for now: details are in the pricing section. Breakout Delta needs a TradingView Premium or Ultimate plan for the footprint data. Without it, candles keep their normal color.

A failed breakout can still turn into a real breakout.

Once both share a chart, let the next MaxCalper alert bring you back to the screen and, when it fires at yesterday's high or low, read the colors at the level before you judge the plan.
